Selling Sunglasses at Festivals and Flea Markets

March 9th, 2010 | massvisioninc

State fairs or other kinds of festivals are a prime location to sell replica sunglasses. In fact, a retail booth at a fair is quite possibly one of the most lucrative locations to sell replica sunglasses. And there are several reasons for this.

First, fairs are home to a high amount of traffic. Fair-goers bring loads of cash with them to spend on food, rides, games, and anything that they see and want to buy. Some of the larger fairs are known for having 100,000 people a day cruising through the fairgrounds. This kind of traffic that passes by all the vendors at a fair mean greater chances of making sales.

Second, fairs are generally held during the warmer months of the year. The sunny skies and warmer temperatures is conducive to selling sunglasses. Get a booth full of sunglasses on a bright sunny day at the fair and you’ve got a recipe for success!

If you are thinking about setting up a booth at a fair to sell sunglasses there are a few things you can do to increase your sales. Some are simple tips that are easily implemented in your day to day routine, but one requires you working with the management of the fairgrounds.

When you contact the management group for the fairgrounds, do what you can to acquire booth space as close as possible to one of the entrances to the fair. This can be the biggest factor of your success! When you are positioned next to an entrance, you will be one of the first things that fair goers see when they come in. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sold sunglasses just for being located right next to an entrance. Many times people will walk through the gates just to realize that they left their sunglasses on the dash of their car. Rather than go back to fetch them, they spent a few dollars for a nice pair of replica sunglasses I had out on display. Being located next to an entrance is prime real estate for sunglass vendors.

If you can’t manage to get a location next to an entrance, spaces close to food courts are also a good choice. Everyone raves about the food at fairs and flock to these areas. Your booth being visible to this high traffic area should attract many people to come inspect your sunglasses.

How you display your sunglasses is important. Since booth space at fairs is limited, you will want to display as many sunglasses as you can in a small area. The most efficient way to display the maximum amount of sunglasses is to use the boxes your wholesale sunglasses came in. These small boxes are ideal for fair environments. You should be able to place 3 or 4 pairs of sunglasses on top of each display box. By setting up a tiered or pyramid pattern with the boxes, you can easily display hundreds of sunglasses across your tables. By displaying the maximum amount of styles you will increase your sales.

Another important but often overlooked thing to do is to keep your sunglasses clean and displayed neatly. Just from being outdoors, the sunglasses you have on display will collect dust very quickly. Add the fact that people browsing through your selection do not always place the sunglasses back exactly where they picked them up from and you can see how your neat and tidy booth can quickly become an unkempt disaster! Make it a point to dust your sunglasses several times a day with a non-abrasive cleaning cloth such as microfiber pouches. Keeping a constant vigil on the appearance of your display will make your sunglasses appear more attractive and will increase your sales.

By keeping a clean booth that displays many different wholesale sunglasses in a state fair it not uncommon to gross thousands of dollars a day in sales. Follow this guideline and you can be assured of maximizing your profits from selling wholesale sunglasses at fairs.

While the fleur-de-lis has appeared on countless European coats of arms and flags over the centuries, it is particularly associated with the French monarchy in a historical context, and continues to appear in the arms of the King of Spain and the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, members of the House of Bourbon. It remains an enduring symbol of France that appears on French postage stamps, although it has never been adopted officially by any of the French republics. In North America, the fleur-de-lis is often associated with areas formerly settled by France, such as Quebec, St. Louis, Louisville, and Louisiana.

November 6th, 2009 | massvisioninc

Mass Vision Inc., a supplier of wholesale sunglasses based in Rochester, NY, has made several changes that make selecting and ordering easier and more cost effective for retailer buyers. “We’ve obtained a new domain name and redesigned our website to make navigation and the checkout process more user friendly,” says Anthony Masiello, owner. “In addition, we’re offering better discounts and some special vouchers to our customers,” he adds. For every $25 a buyer spends, the retailer gets a voucher good for 25 cents off any future order. A buyer who refers another customer to the company’s website gets a $5 voucher. Furthermore, buyers who place an order on their birthday automatically get a $10 voucher.
That’s not all. Mass Vision is offering a 10 percent discount on orders between $500 and $999. Orders that total $1,000 to $1,999 receive a 15 percent discount, and orders totaling more than $2,000 obtain a 20 percent discount. “The discounts are on top of any vouchers the buyers have received in the past,” Masiello says. “When they check out, the deduction is automatically taken from the total order.”
Mass Vision typically has more than 1,100 styles of sunglasses in inventory, and all are shown on the website. “We’ve added categories, which makes it easier for retailers to go directly to the styles and price points they want,” Masiello says. “Retailers can order online, and we’ve now added PayPal as another payment option,” he notes. Sunglasses are sold by the dozen. Other than that, there is no minimum. The least expensive styles wholesale for $16 a dozen of the same style in assorted colors. “The average wholesale,” he says, “is between $22 and $24 a dozen.”
Among the most currently popular styles, he reports, are designs that replicate the Ed Hardy, Coach, DG and Baby Phat brands. These can be bought in a mixed dozen containing 12 different styles, in the particular look a like design. Mass Vision also offers, “the ultimate mix,” which includes three to four units each of different designs. These mixed dozens wholesale for $32 a dozen, and the average retail price is $10 a pair.

Decorating With Artwork

October 20th, 2009 | massvisioninc

Do you always wonder where to hang artwork in your home or apartment? Artwork is such a wonderful addition to your home décor and should be given the utmost consideration when putting the final touches on a room. These interior decorating ideas will make the task of hanging artwork much easier.

To know how high to hang artwork, use the guideline that your wall art should be hung at eye level. It makes a difference if you are standing in a hallway or sitting on a couch in the living room. In a hallway eye level could be approximately 5-6 feet. In the living area wall art should be hung much lower on the wall. An easy way to determine where the bottom of a picture should be is to measure one hand length above the piece of furniture.

Where should artwork be placed on the wall? Artwork should be connected to the rest of the furniture in the room or linked to another piece of art by keeping them near one another.

When deciding whether to hang a small print or a larger print, a rule of thumb to use is the size of your artwork should be in proportion to the size of the furniture or the size of the wall if there is no furniture. A small sofa requires a small piece of artwork or small grouping of artwork. On the contrary, a large sofa requires a larger print or a grouping that makes a statement!

How many items should be in a grouping? Design professionals tell us that an odd number of items are more visually appealing to the eye than an even number of items. When grouping wall art, the pieces should be situated close to each other so that they form a combined unit and work as a single wall hanging.

When choosing a mat and frame, consider the decorating style of the room as well as the colors in the room. The choice of frame should reflect the style of the room while the mat is usually concerning the color. The color of the mat can bring out the smallest hint of color in the picture. Thus, you can play up a particular color with a mat even though it may not be the primary color in the picture. The color in the frame can act in a comparable way to bring out a less important color in the picture.

Abstract Art

October 7th, 2009 | massvisioninc

Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Western art had been, from the Renaissance up to the middle of the 19th century, underpinned by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality. The arts of cultures other than the European had become accessible and showed alternative ways of describing visual experience to the artist. By the end of the 19th century many artists felt a need to create a new kind of art which would encompass the fundamental changes taking place in technology, science and philosophy. The sources from which individual artists drew their theoretical arguments were diverse, and reflected the social and intellectual preoccupations in all areas of Western culture at that time.

Abstract art, nonobjective art, and nonrepresentational art, are loosely related terms. They are of similar, although perhaps not identical meaning.

Abstraction indicates a departure from reality in depiction of imagery in art. This departure from accurate representation can be only slight, or it can be partial, or it can be complete. Abstraction exists along a continuum. Even art that aims for verisimilitude of the highest degree can be said to be abstract, at least theoretically, since perfect representation is likely to be exceedingly elusive. Artwork which takes liberties, altering for instance color and form in ways that are conspicuous, can be said to be partially abstract. Total abstraction bears no trace of any reference to anything recognizable. In geometric abstraction, for instance, one is unlikely to find references to naturalistic entities. Figurative art and total abstraction are almost mutually exclusive. But figurative and representational (or realistic) art often contains partial abstraction.

Both Geometric abstraction and Lyrical Abstraction are often totally abstract. Among the very numerous art movements that embody partial abstraction would be for instance fauvism in which color is conspicuously and deliberately altered vis-a-vis reality, and cubism, which blatantly alters the forms of the real life entities depicted.
